This past weekend at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton, CA, an outdoor concession company named Juicy’s smashed the previous record of World’s Largest Hamburger by creating a 777lb burger five feet in diameter and three feet thick.
The total weight of the burger included a 272lb bun, 50lbs of lettuce, 12lbs of pickles and 50lbs of onions, not to mention gallons of ketchup and mayonnaise.
The beef “quarter-tonner” was cooked on a custom-made 72,000lb grill in front of a growing hungry audience.
And because Guinness rules do state that the burger must be consumed by the public, the audience got their wish and could buy a slick of history for for 99 cents each.
If this sounds like just the ticket for your next barbecue, Juicy’s will make one for you for only $5000. Oh, and if you’re watching your weight, keep in mind that this world record burger contained an estimated 1.4 million calories. '
Get that with a Diet Coke
