Mattel to produce bald Barbie doll for cancer-stricken kids

Mattel will begin producing a bald friend of Barbie starting next year.
The move follows an ongoing campaign on Facebook for the company to add a bald Barbie doll for girls who suffer from hair loss due to cancer treatments and other medical issues.
The doll will come with wigs, hats, scarves and other accessories.
The bald dolls won't be found on store shelves. Instead, Mattel says it will give the dolls directly to children to have been most affected by hair loss through the Children's Hospital Association.
The company will also give dolls to the Children's Cancer Foundation and the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.
