Longest High-Speed Rail Opens:
China has officially opened the world's longest high-speed rail line,
which extends 1,428 miles, connecting Beijing to Guangzhou. Trains
running on the new high-speed line zips across the country at 186 mph
and will reduce the travel time by more than 12 hours.
